We had you at BACON: Chicken Fried Bacon Food Pr0n
I had a package of bacon
in the fridge that was begging me to deep fry it this morning,
so because I always do what the bacon tells me...
I more or less followed this recipe:
http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/crispy-deep-fried-bacon/
The basics are this:
Preheat your oven to 350.
Heat up oil in a deep fryer
(or large dutch oven
) to 375.
Cut bacon in half.
Dip slices in milk/egg mixture.
Dip bacon slices, one at a time, into the flour,
then place on a rack or sheet with paper towels (do NOT stack slices).
(I did the deep fry double-dip method
- look it up)
When oil is up to 350-375, drop slices into the oil, only frying 4 or 5 slices at a time.
Fry for 2-3 minutes on one side, then turn the bacon over and fry for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
Then put the fried bacon onto a foil lined baking sheet
and bake @ 350 for about 7-15 minutes, depending on how you like your bacon.
After removing from the oven, season as desired with salt and/or pepper, etc.
I highly recommend serving with a side of maple syrup
for dipping. :-)
Alternately, you can shake on powdered sugar and then you have Beigconets! (pronounced BACON+YAYS!).
(with apologies to Cafe Du Monde)

10 Minutes in Photo-mo-shop and VOILA! RE-saturated Santa Girl!
Anyone see the photos of 'Desaturated Santa' from Santa-Con?
Well, after checking to see if this was just some cheap 'shopped hoax,
we confirmed that YES, this girl actually tries to look monochromatic in real life,
even though some of those photos look suspiciously altered.
Link to BrodyQat's Desaturated Santa Flicker page
Either that, or we're all colorized and she was drinking red koolaid that day.
Either that, or we're all colorized and she was drinking red koolaid that day.
In the spirit of having ten minutes to kill on a Sunday night,
I summoned the ghost of Ted Turner (wait, he's still alive, isn't he?),
um... then let's go with.. um... Leslie Nielsen!
Yes, he would have gotten a kick out of this silliness...
let's go with him...
let's go with him...
ahem..
So I summoned the ghost of Leslie Nielsen who suggested
that Ted Turner would want me to 'colorize' this girl.
So here's what Desaturated Santa Girl would look like
if I colorized her like Ted Turner colorizes old black and white movies.Photo 're-colorized' for humor.
