so because I always do what the bacon tells me...
I more or less followed this recipe:
http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/crispy-deep-fried-bacon/
The basics are this:
Preheat your oven to 350.
Heat up oil in a deep fryer
Cut bacon in half.
Dip slices in milk/egg mixture.
Dip bacon slices, one at a time, into the flour,
then place on a rack or sheet with paper towels (do NOT stack slices).
(I did the deep fry double-dip method
When oil is up to 350-375, drop slices into the oil, only frying 4 or 5 slices at a time.
Fry for 2-3 minutes on one side, then turn the bacon over and fry for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
Then put the fried bacon onto a foil lined baking sheet
After removing from the oven, season as desired with salt and/or pepper, etc.
I highly recommend serving with a side of maple syrup
Alternately, you can shake on powdered sugar and then you have Beigconets! (pronounced BACON+YAYS!).
(with apologies to Cafe Du Monde)

Put me on speed dial NOW!! I live sooo close and you fried bacon..sniff sniff.
ReplyDeleteNext time I make some, I'll save some for you. They freeze well, and reheat great in the microwave!
